TRAPPO's Christmas Mixtape! (Part Two)
Merry Christmas, everybody!
It's finally here, and to celebrate, we here at TRAPPO are giving you, dear listener, the gift of the second part of our holiday podcast extravaganza! That's right, it's time to complete the world's ultimate Christmas music playlist! It's been one hell of a ride so far, and who knows how it's going to end? I do, naturally, since I edited the podcast, and of course my co-host Ky knows because he was there when the podcast was recorded, but nobody else, that's for sure! Certainly not you, dear listener, and I don't want to keep you in suspense any longer! So here it is embedded below for your listening pleasure, and you can also find it on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Stitcher, Anchor and Spotify, so choose your own adventure and celebrate Christmas the TRAPPO way!
While you're here, why not stick around for a bit and leave a comment, telling us all about your favorite holiday songs and what they mean to you? Or you could just tell us how all the songs we chose for the mixtape are clearly awful and not worthy of inclusion in anybody's holiday playlist if you're so inclined. Either way, we'll probably address your comments on a future episode of the show. You can also send us a holiday email if you're feeling a bit more verbose, and you can always find us on Instagram and Twitter for the complete TRAPPO experience.
Thanks for listening, and happy holidays!
I listened to both parts of your Christmas mix tape episode yesterday while wrapping presents, and I have to say it was honestly better than actually listening to CHristmas music. I got all the good parts without all the filler, and some entertaining conversation on top, so I think you guys did an okay job. Thanks for making the episode and Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, Trappo! I enjoyed both episodes overall, and it's cool I guess that you guys got into the holiday spirit and put a couple of your honrable mentions in the canon, but why didn't you just go all the way and put all of your songs in? Why leave some of them out if you liked them so much? It's not too late, and if you do decide to do it, tell the listeners it was CJ's idea!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite holiday traditions is driving around town (I live in Omaha, NE) on some late December evening and looking at all the Christmas lights. Seeing all the houses lit up and fetive always put me in the mood even if I'm feeling a little Grinchy that year. I also slow smoke a ham every year, because I enjoy it and my family always devours the damned thing like hyenas on the 25th, so I mush be doing something right. What are some of your guys's traditions? What do you do to ring in the holidays?
Good episode, and one of you mentioned wanting to walk down the aisle (getting married) to the song Christmas Canon Rock by Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Well plenty of people actually have gotten married to that song, since it's actually just a Christmas derivation of Pachelbel's "Canon in D", a composition from the 17th century. Too many people think it's an original work from the band and they don't ever think about the actual music the band ripped off to make their song. It's kinda lame, but the song's still decent, and I wish the band TSO would make the truth a bit more obvious.
