Thanks for listening!
This Dungeon Weed shit is fucking awesome! Thanks for embedding the music in the post. I bought both records right away after sampling the music. And the podcast was a lot of fun, too. A lot of weird fantasy diversions and nerd shit. That's much appreciated. More of this, please! And more Dungeon Weed!
ReplyDeleteThe music’s cool overall, but neither of the vocalists are really fantastic, which is kind of disappointing. The girl’s voice is a little shrill at times, and the guy sometimes comes across like he’s making fun of metal vocalists. I’m not familiar with their other stuff, so this is all I’ve got to go on. Good, but I wasn’t blown away.
ReplyDeletePlodding, lumbering monster music. Dungeon Weed is fucking phenomenal. Take some edibles and go slay some slimy monsters in the deepest, darkest recesses of your mind with the coolest fucking soundtrack you could imagine.
ReplyDeleteDumbass nerd metal.
ReplyDeleteI didn’t even know music like this existed. There are so many different sub-genres of metal out there, I don’t even know where to start. I’ve sampled some stuff from across the spectrum, and a lot of it just doesn’t work for me. Power metal? Melodic metal? Black Metal? Blackened metal? What the hell is the difference between black metal and blackened metal? People just make up something to call the music they’re making so it stands out from the pack. I can’t wait for some buffalo metal to drop. That’s gonna blow me away.
ReplyDeletePsychedelic wizard doom? Why not. Better name than post-metal, whatever the hell that is. I swear I’m not trying to do an “old man yells at cloud” thing. There are just so many labels out there how can somebody keep track? Maybe the kids these days have no problems remembering all this shit, but I'm not getting any younger here.
Dungeon Weed is good. I used to play Magic: The Gathering and D&D back in the day, and this is the kind of music I wish I could have played during a Magic tournament when I was in high school.
These tracks feel epic and badass and they really do tell a cool story. I think I agree with you guys on the ending, because it feels like a conclusion and not a cliffhanger. I’d love to hear more Dungeon Weed in the future, however, whether he continues the saga of the skull-faced sorcerer or not. Dungeon Weed kicks ass, and it just may have inspired me to start playing Dungeons & Dragons again.
