In Review: All Eyes (2022)

It's time for a brand-new episode of the show that talks about stuff on purpose! And on today's episode, we're talking about a movie on purpose! Can you believe it? And the movie, if you somehow haven't read the title of the post or seen the poster above, is 2022's independent cryptid thriller All Eyes, directed by the Brothers Greenlee. Who are the Brothers Greenlee? They're a small collective of independent Oklahoma filmmakers who make independent movies and live in Oklahoma. And they're all brothers with the surname Greenlee. There's also a sister involved, but apparently they're also sexist because they don't call themselves "the Siblings Greenlee".

So what is All Eyes? It's a movie about a big-time podcaster who suffers a fall from grace due to a public tragedy, and his subsequent efforts to rise like a phoenix from the ashes of ignominy by traveling to Oklahoma in order to team with a reclusive farmer who wants to capture and kill a local monster that is just covered in eyeballs. That's why the movie is called All Eyes. But I'm pretty sure the farmer just calls the monster "Eye", which isn't terribly imaginative. So what happens next? Do you really care? If you do, just listen to our latest episode! You can check it out below, or find us on Apple, Google, Pocket Casts, RadioPublic, Spotify, The other Spotify, and Amazon, so choose your own adventure and let's go hunt a monster!

(Look, this episode is just completely fucked up. There are several stretches where audio that was meant to be placed earlier in the conversation just randomly plays in slow motion over the last third of the episode. Why does it do this? I still have no idea. It was some problem that rose in the initial render of the episode and after my computer crashed the original audio files became irrevocably corrupted, so I was left with no means of correcting the issue. Under normal circumstances, I probably would have just scrapped the episode and uploaded something else, but in the time between rendering this episode and yesterday, I simply forgot all about the serious issues with this file and I was in a bit of a rush, so I uploaded the damned thing. So here we are, an episode of TRAPPO that I wish didn't exist, but since I was too stupid to just delete the file from my computer three months ago, it's now part of our show's legacy. You're welcome. -D)

Join the conversation! We would appreciate it a whole bunch if you would leave a comment below. Tell us what you think about All Eyes or the other works of the Brothers Greenlee. What are your thoughts on the independent film scene in Oklahoma? Have you seen2017's The Harvesters? That's another indie horror movie made in Oklahoma. Share your thoughts on that one. Or anything else, really. As long as you're not a transphobe or a racist, we'll probably read your comments on the air in a future episode of the show. We also have an email address, if you want to share your thoughts on any number of subjects and are feeling more verbose. It's trapposhow@gmail.com, if you're interested. We're also all over social media. Check us out on Instagram, BlueSky, and Threads for the complete TRAPPO experience, whatever the hell that is.

Thanks for listening, I guess. Whatever.

You chumps are being too hard on a movie made with care by passionate people who are trying their best. Try to make a better movie than you can criticize.
