SPOTLIGHT: "Origin of the Alimonies" by Liturgy
Some of these albums in this poll I’ve never heard of. A lot of categories I just picked the coolest names. And that Black Dog album cover is amazing. I’ll have to check out the music, because if it’s half as cool as the cover I’ll be in love.

ReplyDeleteI voted in the categories with music I've heard. I don't really like metal, and I hate black metal, so I skipped a lot of that. I haven't heard of most of the nominated albums. But I voted. So you're welcome.
ReplyDeleteI don't know most of this music. But I'm going to sample all of it in the next few weeks, and I will vote for my favorites before Christmas. That's a promise. TRAPPO's got another fan right here. But I do have to wonder why you didn't nominate Liturgy's new record for anything. What's the deal? You've got me a little worried.

ReplyDeleteI voted for the stuff I knew. There wasn’t a lot of it. Mega Bog’s End of Everything is the best album of the year.
ReplyDeleteI heard your In This Moment episode and you’re not too keen on Black Widow, which is fair enough. But Godmode is really next level stuff. I think it’s their best work. Album of the year material for sure.

ReplyDeleteYou know only one of the albums you nominated for your “fresh sounds” category is a debut, right? Those aren’t really new artists for the most part. That’s not “fresh”.
ReplyDeleteI familiarized myself with all the nominees, and I voted for my favorites, because I am an informed electorate. You didn't nominate Dance You Monster To My Soft Song! for album of the year, which is an oversight, but I think the categories overall are pretty solid. Lots of cool tunes represented here. TRAPPO is still golden in my book.

ReplyDeleteHow could you guys not nominate 72 Seasons from Metallica? It's a serious return to form for the band, probably their best album in over twenty years! It kicks a lot of butt and deserves more love!
