  1. This is a weird choice of music to talk about. Some guy playing a piano and some lady babbling a bunch of nonsense. I don’t know what exactly I’m supposed to get out of this. The piano stuff makes me want to go to sleep (which I guess is the point?) and the other music with Mattie is just confusing. You really want to honor music like this?

  2. I think Jupiter’s Purse is pretty cool. I may not completely understand the story behind it or anything like that, but the music flows beautifully and she’s got a killer voice. I like the ambition. 👍

  3. How does a guy who is working on songs for Miley Cyrus make something like The Night Suite? It doesn’t make sense to me. Cool music, very slow and maybe a bit sad too. Music that makes you think about stuff, and it doesn’t overstay its welcome.

  4. “Sanctify Me” is just a sexy as hell song. It feels so damn raw and I can’t get enough of it. MATTIE kicks ass and her music deserves its place in your canon. I hope she’s already working on some new stuff.

  5. Can we talk about Preacher’s Daughter, the debut album from Ethel Cain? She’s drawing a lot of comparisons to Lana Del Rey, but there’s a dark gothic undercurrent to the music that gets under the skin, and she possesses a powerful voice that commands attention. The tunes often have a disarming pop sensibility to them that is frequently cut down by this sinister darkness lurking at the periphery that constantly threatens to rush in and extinguish the flickering light. Killer music.

  6. Lord Huron’s “Long Lost” was released last May, and it’s not only their greatest record to date, it might just be an honest to goodness masterpiece. It’s poetic and haunting and beautiful.

  7. You guys should talk about Bar & Star Go To Vista Del Mar! It’s so ridiculous and I laughed my ass off!

  8. It’s cool that MOCCIO replied to your comment so quickly. The music is beautiful and good for a quiet evening of reflection.

  9. The picks were short but suite. That sure was a suite pun. Maybe you guys should do more EP exchanges. Big ideas and big sounds in small packages. I dig it. More MATTIE please. And more MOCCIO while I’m at it. More M’s in general. Maybe som M&Ms, too. Those are delicious.

    1. Megan The Stallion starts with M. Maybe the TRAPPO boiz could talk about her music some. If we're going deep on the Ms, I mean.

    2. There's a band called Mister Littlejeans that just released a record called "Better Days". I listened to it yesterday and I think it's really cool. Subdued indie pop with some killer hooks.

I don’t believe in astrology and I read some comments from Mattie about her music, and I don’t understand any of what she’s saying, and I don’t think she understands what she’s saying. Either that, or it makes sense in her head but when she tries to articulate her thoughts it just comes out as gobbledygook. The music is good enough but I don’t know what the hell is going on in that lady’s head. I get The Night Suite. It’s just a guy playing a piano at night. Got it. So Stephen Moccio gets the win for me.

Can we all please just embrace the majesty of HORSEGIRL?! Versions Of Modern Performance just dropped, and it’s phenomenal. Fantabulous music from the coolest band of equine songstresses this side of the Atlantic Ocean, and you need to get on that fucking train before it leaves the station.

Don’t be losers. TRAPPO needs to get in on the ground floor of this HORSEGIRL thing. Screw cryptocurrency and NFTs and Web3 and all that goddamn nonsense. HORSEGIRL is the new phenomenon and it’s bringing that hot hot fire. Let’s burn together, kids.

  11. Purity Ring has a new EP out called "Graves" that's a bit of a departure from their previous work, but it's still great. Some review said the music was 'flirting with powerpop' and I think that's pretty accurate, but powerpop is great, so I'm not complaining.
