The BLACK SUMMER Album Exchange!
BLACK SUMMER is coming to a close, dear listener. The inevitable march of time ceases for nobody, and even in our profane revels there must come an ending. We've chosen to end these profane revels in style with a double-sized Black Metal-adjacent album exchange! We begin with a pair of listener picks from TRAPPO's Black Metal Mail Bag: Orphans of the Black Sun by Mütterlein & Fear Not The Dark Nor The Sun's Return by Vulgarite, then we conclude with two personal selections: Dopethrone from Electric Wizard & Blight Witch Regalia from Cicada the Burrower. You can celebrate the conclusion of BLACK SUMMER below, or find TRAPPO on Apple, Google, Pocket Casts, RadioPublic, Spotify, Staggerfy for Sweaty Fasters and Amazon, so choose your own adventure and drown with us in an endless sea of congealed blood...
Before I invite you, dear listener, to join the conversation, based on recent events here on the blog I feel I must clarify something. If you harbor racist, homophobic, or transphobic views, you're not welcome here. Nobody needs to read your bigoted garbage, so if you insist on posting your wretched bile, your disgusting comments will be deleted. You do not deserve to be a part of our conversation, so you can just go do the world a huge favor and die screaming in a fire.
If you're not a complete piece of shit, feel free to comment below. Comment as much as you'd like. Tell us what you think of the music featured on this week's episode, share your thoughts on Black Metal in general, or really just anything else. What's on your mind? We really want to know. If you have any suggestions for us, anything you'd like to bring to our attention, tell us all about it. Your suggestions might become part of a future discussion. After all, this whole BLACK SUMMER thing was inspired by our dear listeners. And if you're particularly deranged and would like to send us an email, go right ahead. Our address is trapposhow@gmail.com. We always appreciate your feedback. Unless you're a bigoted asshole. Then you can go fuck yourself. Otherwise, you're cool.
BLACK SUMMER may be ending here, but it lives on forever within each beat of our withered hearts, and also in the impenetrable darkness that dwells within our corrupt souls.
Hail Satan and thanks for listening.
Dope Throne is NOT black metal. It’s not even close. At least the weird noise jazz witch record has black metal vocals. Electric Wizard isn’t black metal and you really should have picked another record.

ReplyDeleteYou people are absolutely fucking deranged. Burn in Hell.
DeleteThese are some really bizarre choices that are stretching the “inspired by black metal” narrative. I don’t think any of these picks are bad (I have no familiarity with Cicada the borrower), but you probably could have chosen some stuff that was a little more closely related to actual black metal if this is all part of your whole black summer collection. But it’s not my show. You’re both on the naughty list, though.
ReplyDeleteHow creative is Blight Witch Regalia? You listen to that album, and you feel like you’re losing your mind. It refuses to be categorized. What is it? I don’t care how anybody tries to label it. I just call it fucking cool music.
