TRAPPO: ORIGINS!
Welcome back, dear listeners! This time around, we're doing something a bit different with the show, as this week's episode actually talks about something rather unusual on purpose: itself. That's right, inspired by recent listener feedback, we're peeling back the tattered curtains and giving you a glimpse of how the sausage was made with this very special "episode zero" of TRAPPO. In this bonus episode, your hosts discuss how their formative years transformed them into a pair of twisted weirdoes traversing a nightmarish world of pop culture for the amusement of dozens every week! We also break down the origins of the TRAPPO. format and its roots in the pandemic lockdowns of 2020.
Don't worry, dear listeners, for this is not the sign of some impending format change. This is merely a one-off bonus episode to satisfy the curiosity of any of you folks out there who may want to know a bit more about your intrepid hosts. Next time, we'll be back to our regular shenanigans with a brand-new album exchange for your listening enjoyment, so get excited for that. But for now, you can listen to the latest episode below, or find us on Apple, Google, Anchor, Pocket Casts, RadioPublic or Spotify, so choose your own adventure, take a deep breath and dive with us into the murky waters of the past...
That's it for now, but we'd love you to join the conversation. Leave a comment below telling us how much you hated the latest episode, how much you hated previous episodes, and how much you're going to hate future episodes. You could also send us an email if you're just boiling over with anti-TRAPPO. rage and don't think the character limits of a mere comment will suffice. And don't forget our official Intagram feed for the complete TRAPPO. experience. And our two music polls, for Jupiter's Purse by MATTIE and Crease by Kee Avil, are entering their final week, so don't forget to listen and vote, because your votes will determine whether or not these recent releases will be inducted in the TRAPPO Essentials Can(n)on!
Thanks for listening!
Maybe you guys weren't so keen on talking about yourselves, but I still think it's kinda nice to know a little more about the hosts of my 73rd favorite podcast with a creepy clown avatar on the internet. So thanks for the bonus episode. I know you guys keep asking listeners for suggestions for music and stuff, and I've suggested some stuff in the past, but what about turning that around? Suggest some music to us. What's some weird or obscure stuff you'd like your listeners to know more about? That could be a pretty cool switcheroo.
ReplyDeleteThere is a bizarre album I just heard that I would like to bring to your attention while I'm here, and it's from King Dude And Der Blutharsch & The Infinite Church Of The Leading Hand. The album is called Black Rider On The Storm, and it's a thing. I think it's pretty fucking cool, but what do you guys think?
TELL ME ALL ABOUT IT!
This episode wasn't great. But I guess I learned something, so that's fine, I guess. I've never seen Heavy Metal, but I watch a lot of anime so I feel like I'm not missing much. I'll probably give it a shot eventually but being an adult who's seen plenty of animated sex and violence, I wonder if it will even have anything to offer beyond a novelty factor. I worry about that. I've seen some older classic movies like The Godfather and The Adventures of Robin Hood, and I still really like those, but does Heavy Metal provide anything more than the cheap thrill of seeing "naughty stuff" in animation?
ReplyDeleteHey, I commented the other day, and it's gone! Did you delete it? I didn't say anything offensive! What gives?
ReplyDeleteI don't know what the heck happened to your comment here. Rest assured it was not deleted. There must have been some kind of glitch on Google's end, because we would never just delete any comment without a damned good reason. Luckily, all comments are archived via email when posted, and your original comment is logged there, so it will be read on our next recording, which will be tonight. Thanks for commenting!
DeleteCool! Good to know I'm not delusional. Thanks for letting me know!
